What is BattleTabs?

BattleTabs is a browser naval strategy game inspired by classic Battleship. You build a small fleet, place ships on your board, then take turns attacking your opponent’s grid.

Each ship has its own ability or cooldown. A normal attack helps you search one tile at a time, while special attacks can reveal, scan, shield, or strike larger patterns. You win by sinking every enemy ship before your own fleet goes down.

How to Play BattleTabs

Choose a fleet, place your ships, and start the battle when both sides are ready. During your turn, click a tile on the enemy board to attack. Hits reveal useful clues. Misses still matter because they narrow the places where ships can hide.

Use abilities when they give you real information or pressure. Do not fire special attacks at random when a normal shot can test the same idea. Save wide attacks for areas where several ship shapes could fit.

Your own ship placement also matters. Avoid packing every ship into one obvious corner. Spread them enough to make enemy abilities less efficient, but do not create patterns that repeat from match to match. The player who reads the grid better usually controls the endgame.

Tips for BattleTabs

  • Use early shots to map space, not to chase guesses.
  • Hold abilities until you can hit several likely ship positions.
  • Rotate ship placement between matches so friends cannot read your habits.
  • Track ship shapes after each hit and aim where the rest of the ship can fit.
